Theresa has over 25+ years of clinical experience in orthopedics, spinal disorders, laser therapy, Pilates and core strengthening. She received an advanced degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas at Austin and has been specializing in orthopedics and Pilates since graduating. Theresa is a strong believer that there is never just one approach for nursing a patient back to health, but rather a specific tailored program for every individual patient.
I.V. has been healing, educating, and empowering her patients for the past 15 years. She uses her strong background in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and Pilates, and functional therapuetic activity to create personalized rehabilitation programs that help her clients reach their goals and beyond. I.V. received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Simmons College and has worked at a variety of medical settings before specializing in orthopedics and Pilates. She uses her experience as a mother of three wild children to integrate patience, listening, humor, and fun into her sessions.
Maya Saffrin, originally from Seattle, attended the University of Washington and Cornish College of the Arts where she received a BFA in dance. She moved to NYC where she toured nationally and internationally for 12 years, after which she moved to Los Angeles in 2003. She is a certified personal trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine, and is PMA certified in Pilates and has been teaching in Brentwood for 15 years. Her dance and personal training background combined with rehabilitating her own injuries, has given her a deep understanding of the human body and the necessary, creative insight to maximize her clients’ experiences. “I’ve done my job if people leave feeling better than when they walked in.”
A Los Angeles native, Heidi received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCLA. Certified in Pilates and a former Equinox trainer, Heidi's goal is to create a positive environment in which her clients can build core strength, flexibility and balance.
Brooke Porcelli is a certified Pilates instructor trained in the BASI method. As a lead instructor in Brentwood, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades and Westlake Village, she has had extensive experience teaching private clients and reformer classes for over 15 years. Specializing in injury rehabilitation and dance conditioning, Brooke's method of Pilates instruction focuses on proper body mechanics and mind body awareness.
With over 10 years in the fitness industry, Lindsey brings experience in Pilates and functional training concepts to give patients the strength they need to live their daily lives. A certified Wellness coach through the American College of Sports Medicine & Harvard School of Coaching, Lindsey has the experience and training to provide patients with a roadmap to achieve their fitness and recovery goals.
As a former competitive volleyball player, Mary understands the importance of building strength and mobility for the athletic arena. She is passionate about helping people learn to heal themselves through Pilates and discovering the power of the mind body connection. Certified as a personal trainer through NCSF (National Council on Strength and Fitness), Mary has helped patients experience the interconnectivity of the human body, aiding patients with empathy and a playful sense of humor.
Fully certified by the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA-CPT), Amahl Van Halsema (Van) has been teaching Pilates for 34 years. With a client base ranging from ages 14 to 88, Van has worked with athletes, equestrians, housewives, teenagers with scoliosis, and clients with chronic autoimmune conditions. I enjoy working with them to improve their physical condition. I am happy to work with clients and accommodate to their busy schedules, teaching bicoastal business executives and individuals in the film business.
Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Marie is an experienced health and fitness trainer, aiding patients in the practice of Pilates. A background in competitve body building, Marie is motivated to apply her knowledge of Pilates and strength training to have patients leave with the confidence to tackle their daily lives.
